History of society
The history of the International Business Center's emergence is inextricably linked to the history of the formation of independent Uzbekistan. Following the proclamation of the independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan in 1991, the state faced new tasks in forming an independent economic policy, developing foreign economic ties, attracting foreign investment, and establishing direct cooperation with foreign states, international organizations, and foreign companies. Under these conditions, the need arose to create a modern business infrastructure capable of ensuring the presence of foreign and international organizations in Uzbekistan and meeting the new requirements of international business cooperation. In the mid-1990s, the formation of a new multifunctional business and public space along Amir Temur Avenue began in Tashkent. Between 1995 and 2000, an International Trade and Exhibition Complex was formed here, including facilities focused on the development of international business, trade, and economic ties. The International Business Center has become one of the key elements of this complex and the new business architecture of the capital. The development of exhibition and international business activities gained particular importance in the 1990s. In particular, in 1996, Uzbekistan became a member of the International Exhibition Bureau, reflecting the country's active involvement in international exhibition and economic activities. Within the framework of the emerging International Trade and Exhibition Complex, an International Business Center was established—a modern multifunctional facility designed to house representative offices of foreign companies, firms, banks, international organizations, and other foreign structures. The business center was established in 2000 and has become an integral part of the International Trade and Exhibition Complex. Thus, the emergence of the International Business Center became a practical reflection of the economic transformations of the first years of Uzbekistan's independence and the country's course toward expanding international economic cooperation. Its creation was aimed at creating favorable conditions for the work of foreign partners and international organizations, as well as creating a modern platform for the development of business relations. The year 2000 became an important stage in the establishment of the Business Center. By the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated April 20, 2000, issues regarding the use of the Business Center building of the International Trade and Exhibition Complex were defined. No In continuation of this decision, on June 19, 2000, the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for State Property Management issued Order No. 36-P, and on June 20, 2000, the Constituent Treaty was concluded. No Based on the specified documents, a joint-stock company was established, tasked with ensuring the effective operation of the Business Center, the preservation of its property, the creation of favorable conditions for the activities of foreign and international organizations, and the provision of service services that meet international requirements. Thus, from its earliest years of operation, the International Business Center was conceived and developed not only as a commercial real estate property but also as a specialized platform for fostering international business cooperation. Its concept envisioned uniting the representative offices of foreign companies, international organizations, and other participants in international economic relations within a single space. Later, the building housed the representative offices of major international organizations, including the World Bank and the International Finance Corporation. Over the subsequent years, the International Business Center developed as a specialized infrastructure for international business, gradually expanding its range of services and strengthening its reputation among foreign organizations. Today, the International Business Center is the result of the long-term development of business infrastructure, the foundation of which was laid in the first years of independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Its formation reflects the consistent process of the country's integration into the global economic space—from the formation of the first international cooperation institutions to the creation of a modern business environment for foreign and international organizations. At the current stage, JSC "International Cooperation Center" continues to develop the concept established during the creation of the International Business Center. The company acts as an operator of business infrastructure, ensuring its effective functioning and providing a complex of infrastructure and service services, developing business ties, and promoting the strengthening of the international prestige and investment attractiveness of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
